INTERNATIONAL EARTH DAY: 22 APRIL



Africa needs our commitment. On this Earth Day we should consider actions to maintain the wonderful biodiversity of this continent.

We need to halt deforestation, desertification, contamination of rivers, plastic epidemic, poaching of majestic species… Our children in Africa deserve to live a sustainable life.
Earth Day is an annual day on which events are held worldwide to demonstrate support for environmental protection. It is now coordinated globally by the Earth Day Network, and is celebrated in more than 192 countries every year.

The name and concept of Earth Day was pioneered in 1969 at a UNESCO Conference in San Francisco. This April 22 Earth Day took off internationally in 1990 with organized events in more than 100 nations. Numerous communities celebrate Earth Week, an entire week of activities focused on environmental issues.
