We have a NEW and convenient way for you to help out (if you are in the USA) it's donating by text, you have seen it used before with large organizations like Save The Children and Red Cross... now we have our very own ! Text UAA at 28594.

It rolls out just in time for us to kick of two very important children's campaigns:

SCHOOL SUPPLY PROGRAM where we will be focusing on equipping 500 kids in post war BOUAKE, Ivory Coast, with all it takes to get them and keep them in their studies for a year. The kits cost $40.00 . I was talking to our UAA President yesterday and she related to me a few stories of how these kits did encourage children's families to send their children back to school after they dropped out. With an illiteracy rate running at 48%, it's good news to see more children in the Ivory Coast have the opportunity their parents were likely not afforded.

We have also kicked off our CHRISTMAS WISH Campaign. I know...I know.... last thing you want to hear while approaching summer is thoughts of Christmas. But this is an undertaking and a half. The wishes and the capability to grant these wishes for orphaned children in Africa takes a little work and organizing. The picture to the right  is from our visit to Matumaini Orphanage in 2010. The Orphanages and villages we have sellected for this year are hovering close to the Mali border. It is the closest we can get to bring a little love and joy to young people who have been ravaged by the loss of family due to war and aids without being in the middle of the battlefield ourselves.
