Granting Simple Wishes To Orphans In Africa

We are starting fundraising and collecting wishes from the orphans. The ground team in Africa just got baack from a tour. The orphanages are far out of the way and we were told it was a feat and a half to get there....

This year we are taking our love to the borders of a war zone. We will be visiting Orphanages residing within the Ivory Coast right at the border of it's northern  neighbor Mali who we all know is currently embattled in civil war and suffering. It is at this thin line between peace and war, where we will be visiting 10 orphanages to bring them a little joyful break from their horrendous realities. It is as close as we can get without sitting right in the middle of Mali’s current conflict. Our determination is to bring a little joy and Family Love to orphans who have been ravaged by the consequences by civil war and loss of family due to AIDS. It’s a harsh world for these kids... we can support them with hugs and the encouragement  they need to survive this world they themselves had no hand in creating.

We have field workers in  the Ivory Coast who will visit with and ask the children in shelters/orphanages along the border  for their Christmas Wishes (gifts).  We will then work hard to raise the funds necessary to grant these simple wishes for them.

Family is normally a child’s first line of protection. Being deprived of parental support can be devastating. Without this essential buffer children are immediately more vulnerable to abuse of their most basic rights. Please will join us in giving these kids a sense of family even if it were for a day?  And share with them a tradition they hear about but would not otherwise ever experience... “Family at Christmas” time.

Last year we worked with Matsumainy Orphanage in Congo Kinshasu and the Bingerville Orphanage in the Ivory Coast. In addition representatives visited disadvantaged children living in village centers for a village feast and get together. It was something else!
