There was no shortage of superlatives during a discussion of African business and investment opportunities at the 2013 Milken Institute’s annual Global Conference. The panellists—representing local governments and investors, as well as international businesses—described African markets as “amazing” and “tremendous,” the local policy-makers as “forward-thinking” and the entire continent as “a huge opportunity.”
