Safe Play Ground Project
The playground project goes far beyond simple playground construction. Each playground will be located on land secured by UAA and fenced to provide some security and maintained in cooperation with the neighborhood or village. Someone from the community will be responsible for controlling access and cleaning up. The playgrounds will open on weekends and after school. There will be other rules as well, to keep the playgrounds clean and safe.
Another community member will be recruited to serve as gatekeeper on a voluntary basis. The gatekeeper will open the playground each afternoon or morning and close it in the evening. The gatekeeper will also make sure that playground rules are followed and litter is picked up.
