MAKING THE MOST OF AFRICA’s COMMODITIES

We take the time to post informative content that relates to the growth and potential of Africa. Far too long we have held globally misconceptions about this bold and beautiful continent. Misconceptions of  hopelessness, perpetually war torn and primitive;  but misconceptions hinder growth and long term efforts of  elimination of hunger and implementation of self sustainability because they deter investment and fair trade. Time to tear off the shroud and see the facts - without ignoring the people who truly need assistance in gaining their equality and self sufficiency. Please let's not leave them in the dust of development.

Africa is at a critical juncture in its development trajectory. The global economic and geopolitical changes of the last two decades have shifted the traditional power structures and witnessed the emergence of new powers from the South. African countries have a real opportunity, individually and collectively, to promote economic transformation and to address poverty, inequality and youth unemployment.

They can capitalize on their resource endowments and high international commodity prices as well as changes in how global production processes are organized. If grasped, these opportunities will help Africa to promote competitiveness, reduce its dependence on primary commodity exports and its associated vulnerability to shocks and can emerge as a new global growth pole.
